Separate VIs

Hi,
i am using two instruments. Which is the more appropriate way to write the code? 1) to put the codes of two instruments in the same sub-vi, or 2)to put codes of two instruments in two different sub-vis?
Thanks.

I vote for different. Easier to control and maintain in case one instrument changes.

I agree 100% with tbob. Different VIs allow you to use them in a different application where one of the instruments might not be required. The best way to do it is to follow the Instrument Driver Guidelines and develop them as a LabVIEW Plug and Play Driver.
