Save variable amount of string data

Hello, guys!

The thing is that I need to save an array of strings for future use purposes. But length of strings in array always varies from one vi start to another, so *.dat file is read with error 71 every next time!

How to work it out?

Need advices and experiences!

Hi Sharonoff,

when your strings don't contain TAB and EOL characters you can easily save them using the spreadsheet functions (file palette: Write/Read spreadsheet; string palette: array to spreadsheet string, spreadsheet string to array).
When your strings include those special characters you can either use other delimeters or write your own conversion routine...
