dear sir,

 i am using labview 7.0. i want to generate a square wave from pc with variable frequency (in Hz) and  amplitude. Aslo i want to send that same waveform to rs 232 port using visa tools. can u help me.

Hi mom,

what kind of device to you want to connect to the RS232?
Or do you want to control single pins of the connector plug (which is rather unusual/impossible(?))?

For generation of waveforms you can use several functions (LV7.1: Waveform generation -> Square Waveform.vi).
Using VISA is rather easy: open the port, configure all needed settings, write/read the port. There are some examples coming with LabView!
