Running a LabVIEW executable on UDOO x86 ii

Hello,

I am wondering if I could run a LabVIEW executable on an UDOO single board computer?

Any ideas?

Many thanks.

Does it come with a Windows10/11 environment as needed by your LabVIEW executable?

Best regards,

Hi GerdW,

Thanks for your reply. Yes it comes with Windows 10/11. Do I need anything else for it to be compatible?

Kind regards,
Ahmad

I guess no, never worked with such a SBC…

As long as it is standard Win11/x64 it should be able to run "standard" LabVIEW IDE and executable+runtime…

Best regards,
GerdW

Hi GerdW,

Thanks for the prompt reply. Also one question; have you had experience running labVIEW on any SBC? I am asking since it does not have to be UDOO. I just want confirmation that I can run labview on any sbc. I have budget to buy one, whatever it is. Have you had experience with this?

Kind regards,

Ahmad

No. I work with standard Windows computers and cRIO/FPGA hardware.

But you can find specifications for LabVIEW by NI: your computer should run (standard) Windows11 to allow for "LabVIEW for Windows".

(I don't think there are AppleOS SBCs. And there are also specs for the "LabVIEW on Linux" edition, so the same rules apply…)

Best regards,
GerdW

As long as the SBC is a standard x86, then it should work. I have used a VersaLogic SBC in the past for a LabVIEW exe and it worked just fine. Just note, some of these embedded systems have limited resources, RAM, CPU, etc, so pay attention to your program design.

Some people advised the LattePanda.

The earlier models are fan-less, so no moving parts, but still pack some power.

The V1 LattePanda V1 (maybe other models too, >$105) has an onboard Arduino (ATmega32u4) "co-processor". It can be programmed to do IO OoTB.

Do you mean I have to check how much RAM, CPU power my labVIEW programme/executable takes?

Many thanks,
Ahmad
