Resize Array Up/Down Arrows

I noticed just now that if I try to customize an Enum control, I can freely resize the increment/decrement buttons.  However, this does not appear to be possible with the up/down arrows on the index display of an Array control.  Am I missing something?

The array index is a numeric control, so after editing the array and going into customize mode, select the index and goto Edit->Customize to customize the numeric.  Then you can resize the up/down increments.

I see!  So for some reason that's just not included in the right-click menu?

Yes, I don't know the reasoning behind it, or if it is an oversight.  There are several controls which have subcontrols which can be modified via the menu (the plots are probably the controls with the most).

Hi Matthew,

NI simply shut-down our ability to eidt a control while editing a control.

As mentioned in the afore cited thread, you first make your mods to the sub-control and save it to disk.

When you go back into the Control editor for the array, choose the reaplace option and choose your previously mentioned sub-control, in this case the array selector.

Watch your data types!

Actually they didn't.  You can still edit a subcontrol by selecting the subcontrol and choosing the Edit->Customize menu item, which edits the subcontrol in a new window.  You can edit it, not save it and have LV replace the existing control.  What NI doesn't do for some unknown reaosn is give you the right-click context menu option of Advanced->Customize which would give you the same result as the Edit->Customize Control path.  So, you always have to keep in mind that just because the context menu is not there, it does not mean you cannot customize the control.

So, then, perhaps the "bug" is NI forgot to disable the Edit->Customize Control menu item instead of not providing the Advanced->Customize context menu item.  Of course, if they ever disabled this, I would be extremely unhappy haveing to save changes to a subcontrol in a one-off custom control.
