Reporting to excel when using LabView on Linux?

Does anyone have a suggestion how to report test data from LabView to excel, when LabView is run on Linux?

I have only used LabView on Windows before, so this is new to me.

I don't use LabVIEW for linux.

The first thought is to use a CSV format. This can be opened by Excel and is easily saved across a network or emailed as an attachment.

The second option would be to store the results in a database. Excel has the ability to link to databases for retrieving data.
