RS 232

I want to get a continuous data from a Edwards TIC Instrument Controller 6 Gauge Sensor Heads using RS232. But I get a zero reading in my plot, and this is not the correct reading. Even if I don't connect the device to the computer, I get the same reading. How can I fix it?

Thanks for your time and effort

I think this will help you

VIWeek 2020/Proper way to communicate over serial

BTW: I am guessing you are receiving nothing and the string to number function is returning its default value of zero...

How do I check whether my RS 232 is sending me a correct data? I remove the bytes at ports as suggested in this video ,but this time, I get error, saying bad terminal or unwired.

Do you have a manual that explains how to communicate with this device?

Have your tired communicating with it using a simple serial console program like Terra-Term?
