RDA Server

Hi I have computer with nidaq version 6.9.3 and ni at-mio-16e card installed on the computer. I connect with this computer through the local network. I had labview 6.1 installed on my laptop and it worked great with the computer thriugh the network. but I decided to install labview 8.0 evaluation version and it doesn't want to work with the computer through the local network on my laptop when I launch Ni-DAQmx -Measurement and Automation Explorer it shows RDA server problems. And doesn't want to connet. What can be done to make it work? I hope that there is a solution.
Thanks for any help

Hi RQsz,

RDA is not supported in DAQmx. However, NI-DAQmx OPC capabilities can be used to achieve reliable network functionality from remote systems. I hope that you find this information helpful.

Hi,

I took another look at this and my first post was not the information you need.

You should have the same versions of the DAQ driver and Measurement and Automation (MAX) on both your desktop as well as the laptop.

If you are using Windows 95 on one machine, there is a workaround that allows Traditional NI-DAQ 6.9.3 to work with LabVIEW 8.0.

Ok I have made the way U told me. On my laptop I uninstalled everything, I installed labview 8.0 without drivers cd, then I installed nidaq693 from labview ftp. And on both computers: my laptop and desktop (with at-mio card) I have the same versions of nidaq and measurements and automation. But unfortunately when I try to add new device in the devices and interfaces section it tells me that there is error in connecting to remote machine and I should check if the rda server is runing. And it is running.
So I don't know what to do now.

Hi RQsz,

Are both computers connected to the same subnet? A good way to check this is by pinging one computer from the other. Another possibility is that a password is setup. If so, could you temporarily disable it try to connect to the server? One final thing that I want you to do is double check the knowledgebases and make sure that the Traditional NI-DAQ drivers are installed specifically to those instructions. Please let me know what you find out and if you are able to connect to the RDA server.

Hal L.
