Question on Compatibility VIs

Hi,

I have a problem with a compatibility VI called compatReturnToEnter. The attached program was programmed by a former LabView programmer in my lab with LabVIEW 6.1.
It doesn't work because the compatibility VI cannot be linked to event structure (Vkey) (please see "case 3"). I cannot understand the context help of it.
Can anyone explain why I cannot connect Vkey from the event structure to the compatibility VI?
I know my question is not clear, but that's because I got lost there. I'm sorry and thank you for your help in advance.

For me, the Vkey IS 'connected' to the input of the compatReturnToEnter.vi. Can you post a screenshot of your block diagram. Attached is mine. Also, why do you have another event structure sitting in that case?

Thank you so much.

Another event structure was mistakenly placed there, so I just removed. Please find my attached screenshot.

As you can see, they are disconnected. I don't know why they seem to be connected in your screenshot.
