Question about sessions in LabView????

Hallo

I need to know how work sessions in LabView
I have a computer and some external devices as power meter, wafer
prober and etc.
What should I do if I want to initialize these devices in one system.
How can I receive session numbers for my devices?
I can "speak" to each of device abd they understand me and make my
commands correctly.
But I dont have any idea how to connect everything together (GPIB of
course) and how to have good session numbers.

Could anybody help me and explain that?

Hi John,

find attached a jpeg - picture from an init-sub.vi. There you can see, that this initialization phase consists of some sub.vi's who are in charge to init different equipment. The main thing is: an error-line is used to make sure the order of execution. You should do this in a similar way. Some init vi's are inside case-structures; these instruments are not in use for all of the measurements.

Hope this gives you an idea, how your problem might be solved.
