QD: Alphabetize Case Structure Cases

Are you going to extend to Event Structures?

Had planned on doing this before posting but I have been unable to find "FrameNames" as an event structure property. It does have the "Rearrange by index" method though, so it would be very easy to do using the same logic with a different cast. If you can point me to the Frame Names array for an event structure, I will add it ASAP

Ah, bit of an oversight to not have those labels available. I think Jim (jcarmody) has an interesting hack to pull it off, perhaps he'll point you in that direction.

I'm sure you'll find this "interesting" - http://lavag.org/topic/10930-how-to-i-get-the-cases-in-an-event-structure/ 😉

...and if y'all don't think that using OCR to try to read the text from a captured image of the node is *quite* the most elegant solution, please go vote for this idea on the Idea Exchange:

Here's the post with my "final" product.  It works, but there are some letter combinations that get missed.  It certainly is not an elegant solution, but it's all I could come up with.  Let me know if you plan to follow that rabbit and I can post my updated "brute force" OCR stuff.

It's really not elegant...

Brute force never is 🙂

Holy smokes, Jim. After looking at the code that really is a very outside-the-box and unfortunately necessary way of doing it. Hopefully future LabVIEW releases will make this easier. However, a lot of work clearly has gone into that by you and you deserve more Kudos than I can give.

Considering the location of your help, is it really surprising that the result is not elegant?  Smiley Wink

Spoiler

Actually I rather enjoy the OCR solution, it's just crazy enough to work all it takes is someone crazy enough to try.

*Cringes*. Despite two years in Dallas, after living in Chicago all my life, I still try and avoid this contraction. Although, admittedly, sometimes it tries to slip out, I still consciously use "you guys". I refuse to convert Smiley Tongue.

Anyways, back from my tangent, I kudo'd the idea.

Funny.  I've lived all my life in Texas, so "you all" and "you guys" make me cringe.  😉
