Pulse Width Modulation DC motor control

Hi,

I'm having trouble with a LabVIEW VI running a PWM output (via myDAQ) to run a 24 volt (19 watt) DC fan. Motor stalls at regular intervals (about 80 seconds); duty cycle is above 50% when it happens. Don't think it is VI as it is proven on smaller scale running 5 volt fan direct from myDAQ output. I am stepping up using SSR, could this be the issue? Not using free wheel diode as thought motor too small. Could it be feedback or harmonics somewhere.? I have an Electrical rather than Electronics background, so I could be missing something simple. Anyone with any ideas would be great?

Thanks,

Jer

Hello,

which kind of Solid-State Relay (SSR) are you using?

Could you attach a screen shot of your VI?

Kind Regards.

Greetings and Regards,
James
