Problem with creating a spreadsheet file

Solved!
Go to solution

Hallo,

I want to save some DAQ data in a spreadsheet file. To get the data into a simple txt-file is no problem. But, as the vi "Array to a Spreadsheet String" does (see attachment), every 2nd line is empty. Did I forgot something, or is this the wrong method to simply protocol data in a txt file?

Hi deepearth,

depending on your LabVIEW version, you can connect your array directly to the "Write to Spreadsheet File.vi".

Can you show your results and the expected results?

I'm using LabVIEW 8.5.1.

You can see the different results in the attachments. The result of your solution is in protocol.jpg and my one in the lower part of protocol2.jpg. The upper part shows what I expect.

I want to use this file for easy importing in EXCEL.

Thx for your help,

here's a extraction from the original vi. As you can see, I do the formating with "Array to Spreadsheet String". I think somewhere is a additional LF + CR implemented, so after writing a line it ends up with EOL and you have a doubled LF CR. May be there's a reason for that, but in my case I don't need an additional blank line.

Hi deepearth,

the "Array to Spreadsheet String" function creates this additional EOL sign. You can read it in the content help.
