Problem with MultiplyArrayElements and U64

Hello folks,

after using LV8 for 1 day I found the first bug...

When using the "Multiply Array Elements" with an U64-array LabView8.0 crashes... Sometimes I get a message "Labview.exe has generated an error...", sometimes LV8 closes silently.
Using the same operation on I32-arrays works perfectly...

Best regards,
GerdW

And yes, I already submitted a request to the NI engineers...

Interesting. For what it's worth I was able to confirm this. Running 7.1/8.0 on XP SP2.

HI!

As soon as I read this thread I went quickly to make my LabVIEW fail, but I found out that LabVIEW 7.0 has no U64 numbers Smiley Sad Do you know in which version the U64 was added?

Regards.

I wouldn't go rushing to make LV fail. There are enough problems with it without trying to crash it.
64 bit integer support was added in LV 8.0.

I was just trying to check if I could reproduce the error in my LabVIEW, just to check if it was a version problem or something like that. I don't go around the world trying to make LabVIEW fail, as you may think. No LabVIEW programmer wants LabVIEW to fail, I guess.

Regards.

Hello GerdW,

The behavior has been reported to R&D (# [ID:3U276JUL]) for further investigation.

Thanks for the feedback!

GerdW must have been close to somebody on the "inside" Smiley Wink.  This was reported to R&D (# 3U276JUL) and was fixed in LabVIEW 8.0.1. Here is a link to the LabVIEW 8.0.1 maintenance release and here is a link to the current evaluation software download for LabVIEW.

Thanks!

Hi Travis,

well, I got an answer from the German LV support... After this I made a message to the forum to let other people know about this topic.

Best regards,
GerdW
