Problem by exporting data to Excel 2000 with LabVIEW8.2 Runtime

Hello everyone,

I have an application which should export the measurement result to an excel sheet. Actually it works well with my Excel2007. But some of our custmers still use Excel2000, and this export-function dosn't work with it at all. Is there any way to use the application which was build under LabVIEW8.2 with Excel2000?

The problem you have is that the ActiveX interface between Excel 2000 and Excel 2007 is different. The most likely specific problem is with the "Value" property for the Range object. This would be in the "Set Cell Value" VI. One solution is to create two versions of your VI: one for Excel 2000 and one for Excel 2007. Then, in your higher level code you determine which version of Excel is installed, and the dynamically load and run the appropriate version of the VI.
