I have been working on a VI using LabView 8.6 for some time now and when I opened it today I noticed that, although the scroll bars are visible on the front panel,
the rectangles that you grab within the scroll bar to move up or down are missing.
I have tried fixing this by hiding and then unhiding the scroll bars in the following ways:
1. in the VI preferences window
2. by right-clicking the scroll bars
3. dynamically using a property node linked to the pane and using the "HorizScrollbarVisibility" and "VertScrollbarVisibility" properties.
I also searched the forums and found some similar posts with a couple suggestions:
06-24-2009 Altenbach suggested opening a new VI and copying the code over.
- When I first tried Altenbach's solution, the scroll bar grab tool on the front panel was visible for a few seconds and then disappeared when I tried to use it.
Along with the scroll bar error is the fact that 4-5 of the controls in my program are not on the front panel anymore.
When I try double-clicking their terminal, a blank portion of the front panel is shown.
Right-clicking the control terminals gives indication that the controls are not hidden on the front panel.
Any ideas on how to fix these issues without me having to revert to a week-old version of the program and rewrite the added code from there?

I found a Dial Control on my front panel whose Caption text and Scale were not placed on top of the Circle portion of the front panel object.
They had randomly been moved a couple thousand pixels to the right of the control.
In order to reset the position of the text and scale I had to right-click the object and replace the dial with a new dial.
The scroll bars are now functioning and the missing objects are now found.
My guess is the error was cause by the front panel bounds being so large.
Additionally, the objects that I was unable to find were ones that are invisible until a user event makes them visible.
