Poor CCD Image Quality

We are acquiring images from a CCD camera in Labview using NI-IMAQ Snap.vi.

We end up with pictures that have many lines running through them (see attached).

Are there parameters that we can change such that we will end up with a clean, and continuous image?

What is the camera that you are using? Are you by chance getting a bayer coded image?

Dear timjm,

This looks a lot like a RAW Image, I recommend you check if it is by using a program to convert it to a standard file format as we can't display RAW images correctly. There are several free programs available, I know about fitswork for example. I used it before but I don't know if it is available in English. But as I said, there is a lot of free software available.

1. We are using a Sony CCD camera that is utilized for security purposes. We chose it for its small size.

2. We are capturing the image as a png using *.vi in the NI IMAQ toolbox.

3. How do I know if it has a bayer process applied to it?

Hi Timjm,

As far as your question about whether your image has been Bayer-encoded, take a look at this article

If it is returning a bayer-encoded image, you'd most likely have this information in the camera manual.
