PXI 4060 DMM switching time

Hi all, I am using PXI 2529 Switch card and PXI 4060 DMM for measuring resistence and voltage at specified points in PCB. It is taking 800 milliseonds to measure resistence across two points in two wire configuration. How can I reduce this time. I need to measure this within 500 milliseconds. Thanks and Regards Devender T

Don't use auto-range.

Hi Devender,

It is a good thing that you are not using auto-range, as each measurement could then take up to 15 seconds. A few clarifying questions though:

The 800 milliseconds that you are taking to measure a resistance, does that include switching and settling time after you make a connection or just the DMM Read? Second, are you using one of the LabVIEW Modular Instruments Example programs? If not, I would suggest looking at the Synchronous Scanning and Handshaking examples. These can be found in LabVIEW by navigating to the Help Menu>> Find Examples>> expanding the Hardware Input and Output folder>>expanding the Modular Instruments folder>> and then looking in the NI-Switches file.

Hope this helps, Mallori M.
