That depends. What's a PVSF file?

it's a binary file PARALLEL VIRTUAL File SYSTEM. I think it's possible to work this it with linux but I don't know more.

Haven't a clue. I'd guess there's probably a library that allows you to use PVSF-specific operations. Otherwise I'd guess the normal file I/O functions would still work for dimple file opening/reading/writing.
