PCI-6035E ... no DMA?!?

Hi everyone!

I have finally gotten to the point of testing the PCI-6035E I have in
the PC it's supposed to run in, and it seems to work fine ... except
that the driver (both NiDAQ 6.0 and 6.7) had no DMA. This is confirmed by
running the test-panel, which issues an error about "first DMA channel
not responding" but upon continuing displays the kind of data I would
expect.

The documantation says this card should have one DMA channel, but
trying the card in two different computers (PC/Win98) leads to the same
results: no DMA. Do I need to somehow activate this?

Hi!
Probably Your computer hasn't enough system resources.

That's why I tried two computers. And one of them is bare except for the
DAQ card ...

And have You DMA resources granted for Your card (in properties of
computer)? Did You install first NI-DAQ and then plug in Your card?

It's a PCI/PnP card and all the DMA channels are set to autoallocate on
the PCI bus ... so I guess yes. The thing is that the windows driver
(when I look at the properties) has only one possible setting and that
does not contain any DMA entry.

As to installation order, card first then NI-DAQ.

So the problem can be in the order. (I've noticed some examples).
Try to remove device in device manager (My comp->Properties etc.) then
restart Your PC and let to detect new device and install NI driver for
card. In most cases it should help.
Best regards
