Over Range on USB-6008?

Solved!
Go to solution

Dear Board,

I am wondering if an AC signal operating at the limit of the selected range on the 6008 will over range it? Is the  range limit a dc value; or is there over range capabliliy built in for AC RMS measurements? The manual isn't clear on this. Has anyone delt with this?

Thanks a lot!

Mike

Mike,

the 6008 does not have a special method of input coupling. Therefore, the given maximum range is a DC value.

So if you select 5V as maximum range and have a sine wave with Vp = 2V and an offset of 4V, you will cut off the positiv wave at 5V.

hope this helps,
