Opening Vi's in Labview version 4.0.2 with 5.1

I have VI's in Labview version 4.0.2 but I can't open it with the current versions I have going back to labview 5.1, are there any solutions for this or is there an archive location that I can get labview 4.0.2

What happens when you try and open them? I have opened V4 VIs in Version 6.0 with no problems at all...

when I try to open it I get an error that says it can't open the VI in LV5.1 because the VI is in LV4.0.2 and there is no block diagram.

VIs without a diagram cannot be modified or updated because there's no "source code". Such a VI can only be run and only by the version of LabVIEW that created them. If the VIs were part of some toolkit, you'll have to get an updated version from the vendor. If the VIs were saved without a diagram by you or a predecessor, you'll have to locate the original VIs with a diagram.

I was hoping it wasn't going to have to come to that.
So if (big IF) I can find a copy of LV4.0.2 open the VI would I be able to save it on a newer version?

No, finding a copy of LV4 will allow you to run the code you have. To do anything else you need the source code--a copy of the program that still has its block diagrams.

If you can find a copy of the VI with a diagram, you can open it in a new version. Once a VI is saved without a diagram, it's gone forever and finding 4.0.2 won't solve anything.
