Open an old VI version on LabVIEW 8.2

Have you tried to simply open it? It's possible the VI was saved without a block diagram. In that case you won't be able to convert it.

Hi Morim,

Any VI written in LabVIEW 6 or later should convert to 8.5 when you open it.  There may be some change in the functionality of the code,  I would suggest reading through the 8.5 upgrade manual and going to page 38 where changes in functionality are outlined.

Tom, the poster is trying to open the VI in 8.2, not 8.5.

Sorry about that!  It should still convert when you open it however the upgrade manual for 8.2 can be found here and the page you are after this time is 30.
