OPC help

I am using LabVIEW 7.1.  When I run the example vi "Multiple OPC Items Monitor.vi" and switch to "Select Items" on the front pannel, the pop-up window "Select Item 1" stals.  It does not open "My Computer" directory.  Why?  Any one can help?  Thanks in advance!

What happens if you have a blank vi with just the 'DataSocket Select URL' function on the block diagram? Does this vi execute correctly?

Do you have any OPC servers installed on the computer? Could it just be that it can't find the OPC servers?

Also, when you run this vi, have the boolean set to 'select items' before hitting run - does this make any difference?
