OLE DB connect timeout

I have an intermittant problem connecting to a server based MS Access database.

I am using LV 7.1, Windows XP. I configured a "Data Link" to connect to the database and am wondering about the "Connect Timeout" and the "Access Permissions" settings found in the avanced tab of the datalink properties.

I plan to set the access permisions to ReadWrite? 5 Seconds for the timeout? Does anyone have expeience with this?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of intermittant connection problem are you having?

I was unable to change the timeout settings in the Data Link file I created, what are the other settings you have in your file?  You might want to verify you are creating your UDL correctly.  Chapter 3 of the LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolset User Manual provides instructions to configure a UDL.

I set the "Access Permisions" in the advanced tab of the data link to read write and the problem went away.
