NI Vision 7.2 Upgrade

I just finished upgrading from LabVIEW 7.1 to LabVIEW 8.2. I had Vision installed with 7.1 (and/or IMAQ, I never really understood the difference) and had written several VIs that use IMAQ SubVIs. After the upgrade these no longer worked. Does this mean I have to purchase another version of Vision? Or is there some way to simply point LV 8.2 to the old folder containing the .lib of the IMAQ VIs?

Also, can I use IMAQ for USB with 8.2. When I try to install it, it just installs into my 7.1 folder, but I need to use it with 8.2 as well.

Thanks in Advance,
Jack

dear jack,

please find the following knowledge base about this subject;

I hope this helps you to make the module working under 8.20. After this you can try to get the USB IMAQ working, I can't say is this will work with your version. Image Acquisition with USB is not officially supported.

Good luck!

Best regards,

To add on to what Martijn has posted, you will need to re-install Vision Acquisition SW (VAS) since you have installed another version of LabVIEW on your PC.

For a little background info, VAS contains three vision hardware drivers: IMAQ, IMAQdx, and IMAQ I/O. The driver installs support for all versions of LabVIEW on your PC. Since LabVIEW 7.1 was the only version on your PC when you initially installed VAS, that is the only version in which IMAQ driver support was installed.

Just reinstall this driver and you should be set. Install the latest version that supports your OS - you do not need to match the version to your version of LabVIEW.

Does this help?
