I've been working on setting up a new lab and am starting by updating the firmware on some newly acquired cDAQ-9185s and 89s, and found that in the tree view, the devices were somewhat sorted by name, but not fully. I then went to the table view, and clicked on the "Name" column header to sort by name, and it didn't sort the table correctly:
As you can see, these are all 9185s with their factory default names, and happen to have addresses beginning with 1F69 or 1F7D. Somehow the 1F69 chassis appear below the 1F7Ds. ??? Also, within each subgroup, there are other sort issues.
I'm assuming the sorting algorithm sorts numbers before letters, but even if it does the opposite, that doesn't explain what I'm seeing. It just looks completely broken.
This is NI-MAX 18.5. Maybe it's fixed in newer versions?
Thanks,
Erik

Does the sort behave any differently when you click on hostname or serial number?

Hi RavensFan,
It also fails to sort by Hostname, but does correctly sort by Serial Number:
Likely the same sort algorithm is used for Name & Hostname.
Thanks,
Erik

So... looks like two bugs in NI-MAX. How do I submit them?
