NI-MAX.exe is starting to cause headaches.

I am running a number of applications generated by the LabView Application Builder.  One specific machine has started exhibiting behavior that is causing my application to appear unstable to my users.  Whenever any of them is executed, I receive a Windows alert for "nimax.exe" which goes on to say that the instruction at 0x1C9978A5 attempted to read the address at 0x00000000.  After clicking OK, the application continues to startup and loads and runs successfully without any obvious immediate effects.  Some of my users are complaining and beginning to attribute all kinds of unexpected test results first to my software, rather than to their units under test, as a result of this behavior, so I would like to clear it up.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dan Marlow

Dan,

It seems that this is a fairly common issue.  Below are links to discussion forums covering the same topic.

Basically, something is corrupted on that computer's installation.  You will probably need to uninstall your drivers and reinstall them.  If that does not work you might need to wipe your computer of all NI references (even the registry) and reinstall, and if that doesn't work... We won't go there yet, but you can guess what is next.
