NI/Labview Updates: Does it use Windows Security Model? Do you need admin rights to actually update?

I am running a software validation and need to ensure the verison of LabVIEW/other NI software does not change due to automatic or even user driven updates. If the user does not have admin rights in Windows, are they still able to update?

No without admin rights the software updates cannot be done (That is one thing I hate in my office )

Perhaps a better way is to validate the files themselves with a checksum.
