NI 9476

Hi,
I have module NI 9476 that is switching on some relays.
a few seconds after the relays are energized the channels start cycling on and off indicting a possible overcurrent condition..
Is there a way in software to verify which channel is in an overcurrent state ?

One thing i noticed that is not listed in the NI 9476 Operating Instructions and Specifications manual is the module's

Max current drive for all channels is 4 amps..

Are you using the module in DAQmx?  If so you can query the device for a list of overcurrent channels.  DAQmx Write->Status->OvercurrentChansExist and OvercurrentChans.  You need to query them in that order (exists, then chans).

 

Status: Overcurrent: Overcurrent Channels Exist Property

Short Name: OvercurrentChansExist

Property of DAQmx Write

Indicates if the device(s) detected an overcurrent condition for any channel in the task. Reading this property clears the overcurrent status for all channels in the task. You must read this property before you read OvercurrentChans. Otherwise, you will receive an error.

We are using CompactRIO and the module is being accessed  in scan interface mode.
