NAS for Fieldpoint?

My fieldpoint application generates massive amounts of data in a very short time. To help manage all this data, I would like to put a Networked Attached Storage (NAS) device on the network and strema the acquired data to it.  The application runs in real time on the Fieldpoint host, and I use a remote panel at a P to monitor it.  Does anyone have any experieicne in doing this, or ideas on how it would be implemented?

hi there,

quick and dirrrty: if your remote PC is online all the time you could run a ftp - script on the PC to fetch all datafiles from the cFP to your PC and move them from there to the NAS. i think the stress for the cFP would then be minimal (because FTPing won't disturb your timecritical VIs) with no additional RT-Programming necessary. you could rename the datafile as soon as it has been closed and the FTP-Script polls for that file each 10secs or so. if the file already exists on the cFP you can add a counter to the filename. then the RT-App will save the data wether the PC or the NAS are online or not.

you also can use the DataSocket Read-function on your PC for a ftp-fetch.

best regards

chris

This sounds like a good solution....I'll give it a try.  Is there anyway to stream data to the NAS?
