I want to display a tracking signal(a trapezoidal signal= ramp + a straight line) on top of a input signal (from the AIRead)& stay there. On my vi it initially displays a trapizoid but as time progresses it just shows a straight line.I want the pattern to stay there! Can someone please look at my vi & suggest any changes?

I tried doing the same in a different way, this way it works but i have more than one trapizoidal tracking signal. Please look @ the screenshot. I was able to avoid it by changing the 'min # of scans to read at a time' to 300(max value on horizontal axis) but this way the signal from daq was less sensitive . Can some one plzz help?

I is hard for me to understand exactly what you want to accomplish. I guess that the whole "Tracking" signal is a little confusing. Do you want to show continuous ramps (MIN # OF SCANS-100.JPG) or just one (MIN # OF SCANS- 300.JPG)? What do you mean by "the signal from daq was less sensitive"? The number of scans that you read from the buffer at a time has no influence on the sensitivity of the acquired signal.

Please provide us with a better description of the desired "Tracking" signal - maybe you can attach a sketch from MS Paint or similar.

Hi Philip,

Thanks a lot for the reply,I want a tracking signal that would look similar to the trapezoidal signal in the "MIN # OF SCANS- 300.JPG "(Signal in white color), the other signal is the signal from a daq card that measures torque.(I was trying to generate torque to match the tracking signal.)But with my program the tracking signal keeps moving as the signal is generated.I gave an other try to solve it, I tried to generate a ramp for every 800 points(i.e maximum length of x-axis) I still can't generate a non-moving signal like in "MIN # OF SCANS- 300.JPG".I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Sriram

I heard your desperate call for help and here I am for your rescue 😉

I created a VI that keeps the tracking signal without moving it with the acquired data. In my example you are able to update the characteristics of the tracking signal while acquiring the data. If you don't need to update the tracking signal continuously, you should move the tracking signal loop outside the While Loop to save processor power.

Please let me know if this is what you need.

NB: It looks like you are using LabVIEW 6i, so I converted the VI all the way from 7.1 to 6i.
