Multi-Point Scan and Average

I will have a yet to be determined number of microphones aquiring data.  What I would like to do is aquire the data from each mic for a user defined amount of time and average them.  Seems easy enough but I can't seem to figure it out.  Thanks in advance....MeCoOp

Hi MeCoOp,

Would you be able to provide me with a bit more information about the NI products that you are working with and the specific problem that you are having with your application?

Sure thing, I have a PXI 8185 with a PXI 4462 and a 4461 to connect a total of six microphones.  What I need to be able to do is read from each microphone for a specified amount of time.  At the end of the "scan" period I want to average each reading.  Finally I want to average all six channels into one signal.  I'm using LabVIEW 8.2.1.

Thanks.

Hi MeCoOp,

You might want to take a look at the resource linked below as well as the LabVIEW Example Finder which can be found under Help » Find Examples in LabVIEW. These resources should help you get started I am not sure  I am not sure how familiar you are with LabVIEW or DAQmx but I think that if you use the DAQ Assistant Express VI along with Statistics Express VI this should be a relatively simple application.

Keep me posted on your progress and feel free to post back if you require additional help.
