Modbus Demo Box documentation

Hi,

I am trying to use an old Modbus Demo Box but I cannot find its documentation and power supply... Can anyone send any documentation ("User Manual"?) and/or confirm the power supply that I need (12V?) ?

I think my other source of problems might be the cable. What type of RS232 cable should I be using?

Is a simple 3 line null modem cable (pins 2 and 3 swapped) enough or do I need more lines (handshaking)?

the demo box works with a straight through serial cable. This cable is detailed as follows:

I mean, you only need lines 2, 3 and 5 (RX, TX and Ground).

I am not able to find the demo box user's manual, but I think I worked with a 9V power supply, but I am not sure. Anyway, the demo box should accept a range of volts, so, try with a variable DC power supply and when the power LED lights, the demo box is ready to be used.

Allready solved, thank you very much. The problem was the cable. By the way I used 12V and it works fine

What I cannot find anymore is the User Manual. Allthough I can go thorugh without it, if anyone finds it it would be nice to have the set complete 🙂

Bien, me alegro de que fuese el problema! De todas formas te he llamado al móvil antes (tendrás un mensaje de voz) por el mismo motivo. No hace falta que me devuelvas la llamada, me doy por enterado.

Hola Guillermo, leyendo en el foro veo que tubiste el mismo problema que yo tengo ahora!....

Tengo una vieja Modbus Demo Box y la quiro hacer funcionar. tengo el LABVIEW 2011, y ya baje la biblioteca de MODBUS, pero no puedo ver los ejemplos de como hacer el programa.....podrías enviarme la VI que empleaste?... aunque no fuera exacta la puedo modificar para que me funcione.
