Mathscript print command????

Hi,

In LabVIEW 8.5, you are unable to print the plot window created by MathScript Window or Node programatically. LabVIEW 8.5 does not provide print command. To print the plot window, you can use the menu item File->Print Window... To export the plot window into image file, you can use either the menu item File->Save to BMP/EPS File... or the short-cut menu item Export Simplified Image...

Why do you want to print the plot programatically? Would you please let me know your use case?

Look forward to your reply.

Yes, I was aware of the point and click method.

Use case 1.  Produce a gazillion plots of data and send them to a printer while I surf the internet for evidence of life on Mars.

Use case 2.  Print a bazillion plots to a (jpeg|tiff|bmp|ps|eps|...) files for later insertion into MSWord|TEX|etc journal articles, papers etc.

Thanks

Appreciate!!! Your use cases make sense. We will consider your requirement.

In LabVIEW 8.5, the workaround is to use MathScript Node for analysis and XY Graph control for displaying. You can use the Export Image method of XY Graph to save the plot into image file programatically. The attached snapshot illustrates a simple example.

I have the same request. For creating simple plots to import in to text reports, the LabVIEW front panel images are too graphical to look good in simple text reports. Being able to export mathscript plot programitically would be great.
