Hi friends
Right now i am working in Labview 7.1. I have heard about Labview 8.6 version.I want to know the main difference between these two versions.
What are the additional features available in Labview 8.6?
Which version is better 7.1 or 8.6?

You have asked an open-ended question. I would recommend that you download the 30-day trial of LabVIEW 8.6 and check it out yourself. You can also go through the new features that are available in LabVIEW 8.6.

Here's a quick introduction on what's new in LabVIEW 8.6.
Of course you should also look at the new features of LabVIEW 8.0, 8.20, and 8.5.
Why don't you simply download the 8.6 demo and try for yourself. 😄

For software development the 8.x series has expanded LabVIEW with the Project explorerer (a superb function).
For functions 8.x have added XControls, libraries and classes.
Deep down a lot of little nifty things are added, more events for instance.
LabVIEW 8.6 is quite stable IMHO (comparable to 7.1) so I would go for it.

khor,
What does this question have to do with the original thread. Not nice to hijack!
If you built an installer with 8.6, you should have noticed on the Advanced category that NT is not supported.

LabVIEW 8.2.1 was the last version to support NT,
Microsoft does not even support NT (or 2000, I believe) and when ms drops suppot, NI, like many other companies, soon follows the same policy.

They aren't available for download. They may not even be available for sale. Contact yor local NI Sales Engineer or call NI to discuss options. If you buy a 2009 kicense, that might give you the right to install an older version.
