Losing connection to Agilent 6672A with GPIB while running a VI

I'm trying to control(and also read) Agilent 6672A DC source with LabView 2009 using GPIB and VISA, and do some measurements with agilent 43970A + 3x40 channel cards. My program works just fine, at least for a while. My last test run worked for 41 hours (previously 3h, 4h and 17h) but then I lost control of my power source and it jammed and I got the following error message:

Error -1073807264 occurred at VISA Clear in power cycling program waves.vi

Possible reason(s):

VISA:  (Hex 0xBFFF0060) The interface associated with this session is not currently the controller in charge.

Any ideas how to solve this?

Exactly the same issue. Was fine on XP, ported to Windows 7 and start getting this error. (~2 hrs.)

I'm also getting this error intermittently on a VISA write. This is with code that was running on XP for 7-10 years with no problem. The problem is happening now on WIN 7.

Just a guess here, but are you using an USB-to-GPIB device. Win7 is much more likely to shut down power to USB ports. This may be the cause of your problems. If so, you will have to adjust your computer power settings.

Good luck
