Peter,
The sound device isn't supported in LV for Linux. I'd try to cheat by
writing/reading files that are used by command line programs to
play/record sound. AFAIK there are "raw" sound file formats, that just
consist of 16-Bit words. Piping into/from LV comes to my mind...
