Lev-Mar non-linear fit problem

Hey Altenbach,

Could you please save the "fits.zip" file you have provided me in version 8.5.1 or lower and post it again ? It would of great help ....

Thank you,

Marky

Note : Can you please check the results with  the fits : "y = a0*sin(2pi*f*x+a5) + a1*sin(2*2pi*f*x+a6) + a2*sin(3*2pi*f*x+a7) + a3*sin(4*2pi*f*x+a8) + a4*sin(5*2pi*f*x+a9) " and y = a0*sin(2pi*f*x+a5) + a1*sin(3*2pi*f*x+a6) + a2*sin(5*2pi*f*x+a7) + a3*sin(7*2pi*f*x+a8) + a4*sin(9*2pi*f*x+a9)

They give me different results??

You are quoting two different formulas, with different terms and different parameters. Of course the result will be different!

Hey Altenbach,

In the two equations I have mentioned only the harmonics of my sine function  are changing(the red marked integers)...

1) True that , when the intergers changes there will be a variation in the amplitude..

2) But here the  " fit "  with the first equation is so bad and the second equation is good..

So I just wanted to check with you if you notice any bad design of the equation I did (for example : previously adding a knob to the template function)  which gives wrong values to my fit?
