Labview for Z-scan

Hi all , I'm a research masters student with limited experience using labview. I'm developing VI for the running of Z-scan spectrometer. Simply I need a program to run automatically and move at single step increments then take a voltage and repeat this until the end of the stage and come back again the same way. I'm working with a thorlabs DDSM 100/M linear stage with a brushless motor controller. I have been able to operate the system manually through APT but I'm struggling to automate it. Does anyone have a similar VI or have any advice? Thanks.

Jennifer,

There have been other Forum Discussions about ThorLabs Linear Stages in this Forum, at least one of which said "I finally fixed. It works perfect now!  Thank you for your willingness to help!", but with absolutely no code or hint of what worked, what was "broken", or how it was fixed.  You might do a little searching here, and on the Web, and see if you can contact those who have posted similar questions -- might be quicker than waiting for them to notice your post ...  You might also inquire directly with ThorLabs.

I can do this work for you.

in fact i have already done this type of work in past for a research scholar guy.

They were using thorlab's linear stage but not similar to your's.

i have code also.let me know if you still required this.one more thing they are using it for Z scan.

Hello Sir.

I am also trying to make automation for Z Scan setup using thorlab long travel stage and  tektronix oscilloscope. I am attaching the VI I have made so far. Using this I can control my stage and I am able to collect some X-Y values (position vs voltage). But this VI is not exactly ready to be used for Z scan experiment.

Lets say my focal point is around 95 mm (on the Thorlab LT Stage) so that we will consider zero, right (z=0)? Moving forward from 95 mm should be +z and backward from 95 mm should be -z. Suppose I want to see change in voltage when I am moving from 40 mm on stage to 150 mm. That isn't possible right now. I can't start from any point other than home (00 mm) on stage. How do I scan area from 40 mm to 150 mm?

I am complety new to labview so any kind of suggestion or help will be highly appreciated.
