Labview executable suddenly started to Self-restart testing

this program has been working fine for over a year, now it is self-restarting a test.  the test is called with an F12 key and should finish and then be ready to accept other commands but is now repeating the same test as if a button was stuck down.  Has any body experienced this before?

Thanks

Could the F12 key be physically stuck?

Good Question!  When I launch the program and it finishes initializing, you have several options to select.  if the key were stuck down then I think it would start testing as soon as it was polled, but it doesn't.  when I sellect the key it then performs the test, finishes and returns to the polling mode waiting for a command.  within about a half second it starts again.  If I am quick I can press the 'Exit' button to exit the program totally, but that isn't what I want to happen.

I ran the source code version of the program and it does not have this problem.

Thanks for trying...

Jim,

Have you tried re-creating the executable from the source code?

I have not tried to re-do the source to executable.  I did consider that and my thought was that if the executable has changed, I would expect a more serious condition.  However I will try that as I am still at a loss to explain the problem.  I'll let you know.

Abhinav,

I went to the Test Station in question to re-make the executable this morning.  I first ran the executable to verify the problem still existed.  I does not repeat the test anymore!  The system has been shut down over the weekend, which possibly explains this.  Last week when this first occurred, I performed a computer cold restart twice, which did not clear the problem then.  I am now letting it run for the rest of the day to see if will fail again.  There shouldn't be a temperature factor here but there is always a chance.  I will update you later on the results.  I hope this is not a 'haunting'.

Jim

Abhinav,

Well, 20 hours later and it still is working perfect.  It appears this system was temporarily haunted.  Thanks to all for your input.
