Did you mean:

Labview.exe abnormal CPU load

Process Explorer shows 4% CPU load for an Labview thread 'LabVIEW.exe!GetLVVariantForDotNet'

Labview 2016 started but no vi open (only start screen). I am pretty sure that this thread was not there previously !

Thanks

Can you please list the specs of your PC. And I don`t understand why are you calling 4% usage "abnormal".

Specs are:
Windows 10 Pro 21H1

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz 8 GB RAM

With 'abnormal' I mean that a (sub) Thread of LabVIEW should not have 4% CPU Load with no vi's open !

So if it is something that bothers you I think that the only option is to reinstall LabView.

BTW have you tried leaving it like that for a while and then analyzing the cpu usage?

Yes I monitored the system over night and it stays around the actual CPU Load. What bothers me is that I do not understand where this thread comes from. And I know for sure that it was not there because I monitored a running vi month ago with 0.14 % for a while.

I highly recommend you reinstall LabView, things like this can happen due to several reasons (e.g. 3rd party packages) and it would be really hard and time-consuming to try and understand the source of this issue.
