Labview and profibus

Is it possible to use labview with a profibus card in the computer?
I have a Hilscher card that I would like to use with labview, but I have no
idea how to make it work.

The easiest is to use NI cards, then you get LabVIEW drivers...however we have used Hilscher too - but then we had to write a wrapper around their Cif32dll.dll.

Attached is a file containing VIs to open, close, read and write to the Hilscher profibus cards using that dll. I have not included the dll, you will need to put that dll together with the VIs.

The VIs are not a general library, it's something made by a collegue of mine for internal use to solve a specific task, however unless someone has made a general solution at least this will give you an idea of how to move forward...

David,

More than likely the Profibus card software included an OPC server that can
be used. YOu can also make a .dll call to the Profibus card driver. OPC is
much easier.
