I have a machine that I am building that uses an CompactLogix 5380 PLC for motion control and a Labview 2015 executable on the PC of the machine. I have installed NI OPC Server 2013 on the PC of the machine, connected to my PLC, and created some tags.
My LabView 2015 programming software, with the DSC 2015 Module, is on a computer in my office. When I go into my project to set up an OPC client -- My computer : New : I/O Server, I then select OPC Client. a window pops up to Configure OPC Client I/O Server and I choose 'Network'. A list of computers that are on our business network show up and I scroll to the PC that is on the machine I am building, but the OPC Server does not show up. Instead, I get a messeage: "Browse OPC Error. Unable to browse OPC Server from the selected machine. Error -2147024891 occurred at GetOPCServerList.vi"
I have the same OPC software installed on other virtual machines on the same network and I have no problem finding and connecting to those other servers. Any help I can get would be great. Thanks
