Hi Daniel,
Thanks for getting back about this issue. I have had some success (of sorts). There was an option to "Continue" installation, which I had avoided before because of this Error 1935. I tried this, and the rest of the installation proceeded normally, although when the installation had finished I got a message saying "The installation has failed. Please correct the problem and try again."
For completeness in answer to your questions:
So for the moment I don't seem to be having any issues with my failed installation (everything appears to be working normally), but I would be interested to know what is going on with this error.
Cheers,
Shaun.

Hey Shaun,
What exactly is in your installer? This seems to be a more generic issues as I have found number of errors that are very similar to this that do not pertain just to National Instruments software. If you have additional installers, then we might want to try stripping that install down to just one installer. There might be one installer that is causing problems for the whole installation. You may want to try installing this after a clean boot as well. This is a Microsoft article on how to do that:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
This reduces the amount of interference we get from third party software.
Let us know how this goes,
-KP

Hi Kurt,
Thanks for your reply, I haven't had a chance to look into this in detail yet. If I have some time I will look into this and try stripping the install down.
Interestingly, I had to install another piece of software (supplied by another vendor) on this same PC today. This software must've also been developed in LabVIEW as it had a NI installer, and it also "failed" in the same way as my own installer and the NI Run-Time Engine installer (The "NI VC2005MSMs X86" installation has failed.....Error 1935......etc.)
Cheers,
Shaun.
