LabView vs Testcomplete

Hi all,

I am trying to evaluate as to whether I could use LabView in my project for Automated Blackbox Testing of Control Software .

There is another alternate proposed by my team as TestComplete .

Could anybody suggest the most beneficial one out of Labview and Testcomplete .

As the project is soon to be delivered we are facing problem in arriving at the optimal tool

Best Regards

You're kind of comparing apples to oranges. TestComplete is a tool for testing software. LabVIEW is a software creation tool. You might want to consider using a software testing tool to evaluate a program written with LabVIEW, C++, VB, etc. There is a group here that uses a similar tool to test the GUI that our products have. It can control the mouse, enter data, check if the correct screens pop-up, etc. I use LabVIEW to test the products themselves by controlling test instruments and taking measurements. We're both happy with what we use. You could probably write a LabVIEW program to do something similar but the development would take longer than buying something that already has the necessary functions.
