LabView installation

Hi there,

I am installing LabVIEW 2009 from the CD going with the book "Introduction to LabVIEW" 4th german edition.

My Notebook runs on Windows Vista and I have deactivated the firewall and the anti-virus programm.

Everything works fine, a suggestion to install the f2 patch follows, the installer closes, but...

in the Installation Summary it says "Installed "LabVIEW 2009 (German)" and in Installation Details it reads  "No software installed or removed" !?!

By the way, there is not even a "c:\programs\national instruments" folder created.

Thanks for your help!

When the popup message for the patch appeared, did it give you the option to continue? Or to download the patch?

I seem to recall that it did and then continued to install.

Hi Martin,

do you have full write access/admin privileges on your hard drive?

Hi Ray R.

When the popup message appears, indeed there is the option to continue.

In my case I downloaded the patch and tried to install it.

A popup message said that the installer was already in use (for LabVIEW). Therefore I stopped the LabVIEW installation.

Trying to install the patch gives a popup message: install LabVIEW first, then the patch before starting LabVIEW for the first time.

So I started the procedure again for the LabVIEW installation, skipping over the patch-message.

In the end, I see the installation summary described in my original posting.

Thanks,

Martin

Hi xdaf,

It is my own laptop and I have adminiatrator rights.

In any case, the was no popup windows requiring these rights.

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin,

To sum up the things you did until today: You did the nstallation of LabVIEW 2009. dowload the f2 patch and installed it, before lauching LabVIEW the first time. Is this correct? When you now lauch LabVIEW what can you see or what happen? Did you already actived your program?

If you mixed something up in the order of installation, did you uninstalled everything and reinstalled it?

Regards
