LabVIEW webcam

I have posted a freeware library library that is capable of grabbing images from any USB webcam in Windows 98/2000/XP and displaying them on the front panel. A number of conversion tools are also included to convert the webcam images to and from the IMAQ format for image processing and display.

The library can be downloaded from http://www.mindofpete.org/ under the Ideas section and LabVIEW webcam library.

Pete,

This is a very nice toolset. If you are interested in developing more open source LabVIEW software, check out OpenG.org .

Thanks Jim. I'll definitely check out OpenG.org and post any other releases I make here when appropriate. I'm cleaning up a XHTML library that supports tag nesting and is compliant with the W3C standards. I'll post that on my site when it's done as well.

Pete,

I downloaded your webcam toolkit. it perfectly seems to be convenient for one of my projects but when I try to use it, it creates a fatal error at the level of the GRAB.
I'm using LV6.1 and WIN XP.
Could you tell me why it doesn't work correctly?
I have to make an avi file from a webcam.

Regards,
Alexis de La Fontaine.

Hi Pete,

This seems to be a fantastic toolset. But LV crashes at the Grab vi. I am running LV6.1 on Win2000. Any suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
I had the same problem :
The solution is :
1) In Webcam initialize.vi : replace *4 by *8.
2) In webcam single capture : replace right value (in rect cluster) by 352 between "webcam snapshot.vi" and "webcam flat to picture.vi"

I'm using WINXP but i don't think it could change anything.

Thanks for the post Pete, but I get the same error as PincoG when trying to go to that website.

Sounds like a great tool!
