LabVIEW crashed when highlighting multicolumn listbox elements.

Hi All,

I'm using LabVIEW7.1 and I got a problem when using Multicolumn Listbox. I use the a Multicolumn Listbox on front panel to display alarm messages and the size is limited to 1000. However, when there are 1000 alarm messages and highlighted by the user. The LabVIEW is crashed. Attached is an example program to simulate the problem. Is it the problem of Multicolumn Listbox object?

Best regards,
Bill

Hello Bill,

I tried to replicate the LabVIEW crash, but I couldn't get it to occur.  However, I was kind of unsure about what you meant by "highlighted by the user."  Could you clarify that a bit and maybe include steps to reproduce the crash?

Hi Clint,

Thanks for your help. Are you using LabVIEW7.1?

Besides, I got the problem when I select the top item of the listbox first then select the bottom item (press the "Shift" button as the same time). The LabVIEW is then no response for a minute or crashed.

Best regards,

Bill

Hello Bill,

Yes, I am using LabVIEW 7.1 and I was actually able to replicate the issue.  After trying to select all of the contents of the listbox, or even a large portion of them, LabVIEW hung for awhile until the listbox was updated or LabVIEW crashed.

This was reported to R&D (2YIAO75I) and was fixed in LabVIEW 8.0. Here is a link to the current evaluation software download for LabVIEW. Thanks!
