LabVIEW and DataSocket

Is it possible to build an interactive web page with dataSocket using only LabVIEW? Is ComponentWorks required?

It is possible to create interactive Web Pages using DataSocket. You can build an ActiveX control embedded in a web page that uses bi-directional DataSocket communication with LabVIEW VIs. By opening the web page in a web browser, you can control the VI through the browser. To expand this capability of controlling VIs over the Internet, run the web server that exports the web pages. Once the web sever is running, point your browser to the web server computer and request the web page. You can run the ActiveX control on the browser and control the VI remotely over the Internet.
You can download and run ActiveX controls in Microsoft Internet Explorer. You need a plug-in to download and run ActiveX controls in Netscape Navigator. Bu default, you cannot download the
ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer because of security reasons. You need to change the security options and enable the AcitveX controls.
For more information about implementing DataSocket ActiveX controls, refer to Application Note 127, Building an Interactive Web Page With DataSocket, found at National Instruments web site at

Please do you have VC++ version of the note specified in http://www.ni.com/appnotes.nsf? Thanks.

Unfortunately, we don't have this application note with VC++. They should both use ComponentWorks, and I would think the process for both software packages would be similar. If you need help on creating the DSReader Component Using ActiveX Controls in VC++, you might post this question to our Measurement Studio team, and I am sure that they will be able to help you more on this.
